by Greg DoneganI've wanted to read this series since I heard him speak at WisRWA and NJ RWA conferences. My favorite writing teacher Bob Mayer's alter-ego. Nothing like NOT starting a series at the beginning though! He does enough backstory that you're not lost. Masterful job of blending the "THEN" and "NOW" chapters. I never got lost. I did get a little lost in the technical scientific aspects of the plot, but not enough to NOT be able to follow the story. The only thing I missed was deeper character development. I'm used to less character-more plot in this genre, but I wish just once someone would break the mold. Still an enjoyable read.
